Preface

Welcome to the June 2026 edition of the Monthly Roundup. This newsletter is designed to keep our employees and the public updated with any changes in the city or department. Attached to the newsletter will be a message from the office of the Chiefs of Department, awards, key moments and careers. Any additions to the newsletter please contact Human Resources via helpdesk.

Message From The Chief

April has been a busy month for the department, with several new faces in the command teams. I would like to welcome everyone who has recently joined and I hope you have a great time in your new roles.

We have also made very needed changes to our Officer Handbook, which should help newer officers understand the department's policies and procedures better. I would like to massively thank everyone who contributed to the updates and I encourage all officers to review the handbook to stay informed.

We should also note that our Head of Development Services, Sindarin, has stepped down from his position. We're grateful for his contributions to the development of this new PLPD website and wish him all the best moving forward. Thank you for all of your work and effort!

- Deputy Chief of Department Edward Field

Police Distinguished Service

Awarded to: Boris Krokodil
"The Head of Internal Affairs and Head of Professional Standards are saddened by the resignation of Lieutenant Boris Krokodil, but it brings them great pleasure to award a Police Distinguished Service Award to mark their extensive tenure, contributions, and dedication to Internal Affairs. Barrel has been a stalwart of the Command Team, having served for nearly two years. During this time they have taken on countless complex cases, trained and imparted corporate memory onto a plethora of Investigators, and has shown nothing but exceptional professionalism and leadership. Barrel's service to the division is a long and distinct one, and they will leave a hole in the hearts of many. Thank you for your selfless service; we wish you all the best on your future endeavours, and hope to see you return to the fold of Departmental leadership again soon."
- Captain Acer Joseph

Police Meritorious Achievement

Awarded to: Lonneke Schuitema
"I would like to award Viper for his excellent work in creating an amazing tool for Patrol Command that fully automates our work when it comes to inboxes, record notes, and tracking everything that is OR-related. This has helped us significantly by saving a huge amount of time, giving us more opportunities to focus on other important tasks within Patrol. His work has certainly not gone unnoticed. The tool is in constant development, meaning it could prove to be even more useful the future. On behalf of the Patrol Command team, I would like to give Viper a huge thank you for all the effort and dedication he has put into this project to make our jobs easier."
- Civilian Jodie Matthews

Officer of the Month

Awarded to: Felix Futarac
"MJ was nominated by several colleagues in recognition of his outstanding dedication, consistently high activity levels, and excellent policing. Beyond his performance while on duty, MJ demonstrated a strong commitment to his growth as an officer by regularly seeking guidance, asking thoughtful questions, and taking the initiative to strengthen his knowledge around laws & policies. His willingness to learn & improve himself has not gone unnoticed. We hope to see you continue down this path, and we're excited to see you continue to develop your skillset. Congratulations!"
- Major Damon Creed

Police Meritorious Achievement

Awarded to: Nikola Fischer
"It brings the Head of Internal Affairs and the Head of Professional Standards delight to award Lieutenant Nikola Fischer with a Meritorious Achievement Award for creating the first new-style entrance examination for Investigative Assistants. This exam created by Vollgas was used for both the October 2025 and January 2026 intake, which saw 15 applicants be accepted into the division with a subsequent high retention rate past probation. The question set thoroughly tested the policy and law knowledge of potential entrants, and also provided opportunity for practical application with a well-devised mock Final Report which also included a purpose-made evidence video. This piece of work was no small feat and is a testament to their discipline, attention to detail, and precision. We thank them for being pioneering as an agent for change."
- Captain Acer Joseph
